TMALS Sports Program
Thurgood Marshall Lower School strives to make sure students learn the skills to lead healthy lives. Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School students have many great opportunities to participate in different sports activities. Students take part in the Road Running Club and the Special Olympics for Elementary Schools.
TMALS Road Running Club consists of students in grades 1-5 who get the opportunity to learn different track and field skills. They learn the fundamentals of running, the triple jump, the long jump, and the shot put. Students put these skills into practice by going to running events hosted by the New York Road Runners. TMALS also works closely with the Special Olympics for elementary schools. Students of all abilities and skill levels get to participate in activities such as gymnastics, basketball, soccer, and floorball.
